Meet Your Dog Trainer: Rylee Rose, CPDT-KA, FDM
Rylee Rose is the owner and head dog trainer at Rose Dog Training LLC, serving families across Long Valley, Chester, Basking Ridge, Bridgewater, Somerville, and the surrounding communities of Morris County and Somerset County, New Jersey.
Rylee holds the Certified Professional Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) credential through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, the Family Dog Mediator (FDM) designation through completion of the L.E.G.S Applied Ethology Course, and has completed the Aggression in Dogs Master Course — a specialist-level credential reserved for trainers focused on serious behavior concerns.
Her journey began volunteering at animal shelters and working in boarding kennels during her teenage years, where she built hands-on experience handling dogs of every size and temperament. She went on to work in canine rehabilitation — a background that deepened her understanding of the connection between physical health and behavior — before launching Rose Dog Training.
Rylee takes a holistic approach to dog training — mainly working off of the L.E.G.S (Learning, Environment, Genetics, and Self) and LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) frameworks. In order to solve and modify behaviors, Rylee looks at the entire picture rather than only addressing the symptomatic behavior. Sometimes a simple tweak in the environment can have a significant impact on behavior. Sometimes there is a genetic need that is unfulfilled. Sometimes a dog’s behavior could be health related. Usually, it is a combination of these factors that causes the problematic behaviors. By looking under every single rock in both behavior and training cases, Rylee helps her clients get to the root of the problem so they can understand exactly what is causing their dog’s behavior, and start to effectively change their dog’s behavior through individualized training plans tailored to their dog.
Committed to ongoing education, Rylee actively studies courses and books published by accomplished trainers to stay at the forefront of canine behavior science. Outside of work, she trains her own cat — because if the cat can do it, so can your dog!

We get how you feel.
We can help.
You may be at your wits' end with your dog's out-of-control behavior. You may feel embarrassed when your dog jumps all over your guests. Just the thought of taking your dog to the vet may stress you out. You may feel like you have no control over your dog — and fear dropping the leash because your dog won't come back when called.
Rose Dog Training's goal is to put you back in control. The aim is for every client to feel confident holding the end of their dog's leash when passing another dog, to feel proud of their dog's behavior when guests arrive, and to have peace of mind knowing the leash dropping won't end in a chase.
Most importantly — the goal is to help dog owners actually enjoy their dog.
That's why you got a dog in the first place. With Rose Dog Training, having the dog you dreamed of — the well-behaved family member who brings joy, not stress — is more than possible.
It's more than just training the dog.
It's also teaching owners how to feel confident working with their dog. A common theme from clients who've tried other approaches: after the video ended or the session wrapped, they felt lost, confused, and like they were doing everything wrong.
That's exactly what Rose Dog Training works to prevent. The majority of training progress happens between sessions. The number one goal is for every client to walk away from each lesson feeling confident — knowing they're doing everything right — and watching their dog actively learn and make progress in real time.
